Fence Demolition & New Fence Installation

Project Overview

Built with planning, durable materials, and clean craftsmanship

This June project in Edmonds replaced an older fence line with a cleaner cedar installation that feels consistent from the patio corner to the wooded slope behind the home. The new fence ties together privacy, circulation, and a more finished backyard edge while fitting around the existing deck walkway and pergola structure. The original fence had reached the point where patching sections no longer made sense. The run moved through tight deck-side walkways, corner transitions, and a sloped wooded edge, so the replacement needed to start with full demolition and then be rebuilt with cleaner alignment, stronger posts, and better height consistency.Northwood Renovation demolished the failing fence, reset the layout, and installed a new cedar fence with solid post spacing, stepped and sloped transitions where needed, and clean detailing around the patio, pergola, and narrow side-yard paths. The new work was planned to keep the fence line looking intentional from every angle instead of feeling pieced together section by section. The finished fence gave the Edmonds property a much stronger sense of privacy and a cleaner visual boundary, especially along the deck and wooded rear edge. It now feels like a complete installation rather than a series of old repairs, with a warm cedar finish that fits the home and landscaping.

The Challenge

What needed to be solved

The original fence had reached the point where patching sections no longer made sense. The run moved through tight deck-side walkways, corner transitions, and a sloped wooded edge, so the replacement needed to start with full demolition and then be rebuilt with cleaner alignment, stronger posts, and better height consistency.

Our Solution

How the work came together

Northwood Renovation demolished the failing fence, reset the layout, and installed a new cedar fence with solid post spacing, stepped and sloped transitions where needed, and clean detailing around the patio, pergola, and narrow side-yard paths. The new work was planned to keep the fence line looking intentional from every angle instead of feeling pieced together section by section.
